A Word from our Pastor

Dear Church Family,

It’s been a year or so since I’ve taken over as the primary speaker for NABC and over six months since being voted in as your Pastor. This has been a rewarding time for me and my family. During this time, we’ve seen the church start to grow! We’ve kicked the tires by bringing back Sunday evening services and have seen our children’s ministry grow beyond my own family. During this time, the leadership team remains focused on being obedient to the calling of the Holy Spirit as we seek His guidance in the leadership of the church. As I look back at the past year, I’m reminded of so many victories. Our Missionary Commission has brought us monthly updates on missionaries that we support with our prayers and monetary giving. The commission held our first fundraiser for our missionaries with a churchwide yard sale. This was a tremendous amount of work and took all members to accomplish, but it was so rewarding. The funds raised will be used to support missionaries in their time of special need.

I’ve seen a church hold a huge 4th of July celebration under the leadership of Chris Davis. We hosted well over two hundred people to a day full of rides, games, food, and fireworks! I’m still hearing great reports from the community about this event. The church went above and beyond supporting Zachary during his time in Bootcamp and even proclaimed the Gospel to many other young Marines with cards, letters, prayers, and words of encouragement. What a blessing!

As we look to 2024, I’m excited as I see our church laser focused on not just adding new members to our faith family but continuing to reach out to the community of Lompoc. Your leadership has already started planning new ideas and exciting ways to minister. Our Children’s Sunday School is picking up steam and our children’s ministry is growing. There are not enough “Thank Yous” for the leadership team of our children’s ministries. Our ladies have a Bible study meeting weekly, and we finally have a thriving men’s group. Each of these groups will rise up leaders for the work of the Gospel.

Quickly, I’ll share some of our ideas for 2024 in bullet form:

  • We’ll have a huge Easter celebration with breakfast, Easter egg hunt, and message.
  • Our second annual 4th of July Celebration
  • VBS is coming back!!!
  • A first responder appreciation day BBQ
  • Our first Children’s Christmas Break camp
  • A gift-wrapping outreach during Christmas

                                                            …and so much more!

Again, it’s an honor to be your Pastor and serve the community alongside you. Our family loves this church and all of you, and we will continue to serve in the fear of the Lord as the Holy Spirit directs.

Your Pastor,

Charles
