Scouts

Chartered in June, 1993, Pack and Troop 2103 were created to fill a need in the Lompoc Valley to provide a quality program for boys in a supportive, Christian environment. We offer a program that takes a boy from First Grade to adulthood.

Cub Scout Pack 2103 is open to all boys that have completed Kindergarten (or 7 years old) through Fifth Grade (or 10 years old).

Boy Scout Troop 2103 is open to boys from 11 year old (or 10 1/2 with the Arrow of Light award from Cub Scouts) through 17 years old.

Our leaders are all trained volunteers and highly motivated. Many have completed Scouting’s top level of training (Wood Badge) and our Cubmaster has been awarded the Boy Scouts of America’s highest awards for leaders, the Silver Beaver award and the National Unit Leader Award of Merit. Both units have won multiple awards and have complete, active programs. We stand ready to help you get all you can from Scouting.

Parents are a key part of Scouting and make up the majority of our leaders. We also need parent volunteers to chair various activities. Your boy will get the most out of Scouting if you are involved with him. We have a monthly meeting for parents to help in planning and guiding our program. Please plan on participating. It really is FUN!

Cub Scouts is divided into two entities. The first is the Den. Dens are groups of 6 – 8 Scouts in the same grade. They work out of a grade appropriate work book toward a rank goal. The Dens meet weekly under the direction of at least two volunteer leaders. The second is the Pack. The Pack is all the Dens together. The Pack is led by the Cubmaster and the Pack Committee. Pack meetings are held monthly and include fun activities and recognition of the Scout’s progress for the month. The Pack and Dens both have outside activities and trips.
